AI Forge Cycle 2 Critical Challenges Report Now Available
Please find the report attached within.
Good Evening AI Forge Forum Members,
We are pleased to share the finalized AI Forge Critical AI Challenges for National Security Report - Cycle 2.
The report reflects the AI Forge commitment to refresh the research agenda at the pace of AI development and incorporates input from government mission stakeholders and frontier AI companies. It identifies nine research challenges across four complementary thrusts:
-
AI Interpretability
-
AI Control
-
Adversarial Robustness
-
AI Assurance
The Cycle 2 report places increased emphasis on autonomous agents operating over time with tools, persistent memory, delegated tasks, and changing conditions. It also introduces AI Assurance as a dedicated thrust focused on evaluation, verification, and mission confidence. It will serve as the technical foundation for the upcoming Cycle 2 Request for Abstracts.
We encourage all Forum Members to review the report in preparation for the Cycle 2 solicitation. Riverside Research will publish the Request for Abstracts and related submission guidance through GovSignals on 23 October.
Thank you for your continued engagement and for helping shape the next cycle of AI Forge research.
